Our first-of-its-kind talk between Gael Dutigny and Caleb Files will be about Caleb’s first 100 miles, the Leadville Trail 100 Run coming up on August 16, 2025. Gael has finished 5 of those.
A 100 miles? Non-stop? Yes, and this LT100 Run course is a brutal out-and-back ultramarathon with technical terrain, steep climbs, and high-altitude passes, all amounting to over 18,000 feet of elevation gain. The course also reaches a peak elevation of 12,600 feet above sea level. So why in hell would a runner (anybody really) want to do something like this?! What’s the point, and why have such ultra-trail races become so popular? What kind of training and mindset do you need to be able to tackle a race like that? What gear do you need? Because of their diverse experience, those two will have all the answers.
So even if you’ve never run further than a half-marathon or set foot on a dirt trail for a run, this talk is for you! You can ask Gael and Caleb anything, and finally understand what pushes normal/average runners to go beyond and push themselves like they never thought they could. And then, of course, plan your next 100 miles with them!
